BENGUET CORPORATION Baguio City, Philippines
Geology Manager Open Pit Operations Antamok Gold Mine January 1981 - September 1987
Experience
My first full time job after college graduation. I joined the company as an Apprentice Geologist in Acupan Gold Mine, an underground mining operation. After passing the probationary period, promoted and transferred to the various mining operations (surface and underground) and exploration projects (gold, copper and chromite) where my services to beef up operations were critically needed.
AchievementsIn this position I learnt the basics of mining geology and exploration geology. I was among the staff responsible for the sustained mine development that contributed to the monthly call of 300-Kg gold production. Was the proponent of ore shoot delineation and geostatistical analysis of all major vein systems in the mines. Was first among the geologists to research for Bulk Gold deposits in the Philippines that led to various drilling prospects.
