Duties and Responsibilities
|
|
GENERAL MANAGEMENT |
 |
Responsible for
the effective and efficient management of the Geology Division (Mine
Geology Department, Exploration Department and Drilling Department). |
 |
To teach and
train subordinates, also offer cross training into major functional
areas. |
 |
To handle
projects and assignments concerning the various aspects of exploration
and mining geology. |

MINE GEOLOGY |
 |
To economically
maintain or increase the ore reserve position of the mine, for both open
pit and underground operations. |
 |
Responsible for
the programming and strict implementation of all long and short term
exploration or development projects in the mine. |
 |
Responsible for
the proper geological guidance, grade control, sampling, mapping etc. of
all mining activities. |

EXPLORATION |
 |
Responsible for the
research, identification and evaluation of gold and copper prospects. |
 |
Responsible for the
planning, scheduling, budgeting and implementation of all exploration
programs (i.e. grass roots to advanced drilling stage). |
 |
Responsible for the
cost effective, rapid and accurate geological interpretations and resource
to reserve estimates of all the projects. |

|
DRILLING |
 |
Responsible for the
effective and efficient drilling (Diamond Coring and Reverse Circulation)
activities. |
 |
Responsible for the
identification and programming of drilling targets. |
 |
To decide the type
of drilling method most suitable for a particular hole (e.g., RC, RAB &
DD). |
 |
Responsible for the
accurate and detailed core logging and sampling activities. |

OTHERS |

To liaise with
government officials concerning company business. |

concerning mining claims and high grading cases. |

Make most decisions concerning the Division's efficient and effective
general functions. Advisory to higher management concerning geological or

Responsible to the Corporation for the performance of the Geology Division.
The Mine Geology Department for the update and sound grade control measures
(this has a direct effect to gold production), the Exploration Department
for the accurate property evaluations and Drilling Department for the cost
effective drilling activities. |

|
|
|
 | Meet daily with
subordinates for their reports, problems and instructions. |
 | Reports weekly
to the superior for progress and status reports. |
 | Closely
co-ordinates with other managers for communication and interaction. |
 | Liaise with
government officials concerning legal matters. |

Spends most of the time in the minesite and in the field. Forty percent of
the time is spent in the office for office works, report writing and
interactions. |
